Clio & Euterpe Online: Order DVDs

One of the goals in scanning the three volumes of Clio & Euterpe was to digitally preserve the collection by getting the best images of the music with their engraved headers. The line art scans could only capture black and white, so a second scan was made of each page in .tif format at 300 dpi for the first volume, and 600 dpi for Volumes 2 and 3 in RGB mode. This has in effect recorded a photographic image of each page in high detail. The resulting files are very large, at about 100 MB each. However, they show the texture of the paper, the subtle colors of the printer's ink, the few stains from age—an intimate view of "Clio & Euterpe".

These high resolution files are available as a full 8-DVD set that includes frontispieces, title pages and tables of contents—a valuable addition to the collection of any museum, library or historic society as well as for collectors of both music manuscripts and illustrative art.

The price for the entire set of images is $90 including shipping and handling. All proceeds go solely to the maintenance and upgrade of the Clio & Euterpe Online website.
